Know What To Expect

So you’ve finally made the decision to get your eyebrows microbladed. It’s been a long time coming and you can’t wait for the big day, here’s a day by day guide of what to expect. Microblading and permanent makeup is a process. The true results will not be seen until after the touch up treatment, but in the mean time your brows will go through a few stages.

Day 1

After your treatment on day 1 your brows will look bold, dense and dark. That may be exactly what you’re looking for, it not, don’t panic. The permanent makeup has been applied to compensate for fading of 20-40%, so if they look darker than you normally wear your brows, stay calm, the color will fade over the next week.

You will likely be red and slightly swollen, accompanied with some slight bleeding. This is all very normal.

Day 2

You will likely still be tender and slightly swollen today but bleeding should have subsided. This is when most people really fall in love with the look of their new brows. The redness should have subsided a lot if not completely. Avoid touching your beautiful new brows, I know it’s hard but they are tons of little wounds we need to keep as clean as possible.

Day 3-5

Now that’s what I call #browgoals! Finally, you’re experiencing the convenience of not having to draw on your brows every day, and it makes getting ready a breeze. “Why didn’t I do this a long time ago” is what you keep asking yourself.

Day 5-7

This is that ugly time you’ve heard about, you’ll begin to experience the scabbing and peeling. Your new brows will itch and you will be tempted to pick at them but DON’T, you will lose the pigment and end up with patchy brows.

Day 7-10

This is the phase where flaking should be coming to an end. You may feel discouraged because your brows will likely look much lighter, missing in spots and maybe even gray. Don’t panic, this it totally normal, your brows are still healing beneath the surface distorting the way we see the pigment from the surface.

Your wounds should be healed by now so you can apply some powder to fill them in if you would like.

Day 12-21

You should be able to see your strokes and definition of your brows returning at this point. The will be evening out and you will begin to feel some relief.

Day 30

Your brows are officially healed! At this point you will know if there is anything you would like to add or change at the touch up appointment. You may have some areas where pigment was lost but don’t worry that can be fixed at your upcoming appointment as well.

We never recommend doing follow ups before the healing process has completed. The healing process can have ups and downs and I hope this helps you understand exactly what to expect.
